Jyväskylä's calling rugby players from all over the world to compete in this unique tournament in the heart of Finland! For the first time in the tournament's history, Snow Rugby is organised in the very centre of Jyväskylä. The pitches will be located at the Finnish baseball stadium of Hippos Sports Park. Enjoy a full day of intense rugby in a great atmosphere at the Hippos! 20 men's and 10 ladies' teams will have the chance to compete for the title of Snow Rugby Champion 2013.
The games will be held on Saturday 2nd of March, from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. After the games all the players, coaches, referees and spectators are warmly welcome to enjoy a closing ceremony and dinner in Club Escape.
Jyväskylä Rugby Club has been the host for this venue since 2002. The very first Jyväskylä 7's Snow Rugby Tournaments were played on the ice of Lake Jyväsjärvi. Past years' participants include players from Luxembourg, Wales,Ireland and Sweden. In recent years, the tournament has been played on pitches located next to the famous Laajavuori ski centre and now for the first time just a short walk away from Jyväskylä city centre in the Hippos Sports Park. The park is an excellent venue for both playing and watching rugby.
