Rules
Notice that all under 18 players have to bring a parental permit to
be allowed to play in the tournament.
Practical instructions and laws for the matches
Here are some practical matters you absolutely must know:
- Make sure that your fifteen nominated players are reported to the organizers
at least ten minutes before your first match (the form will provided).
- Make sure the players are prepared to go on the field at least a couple of
minutes
before the kick-off time. Delays can mean that the match begins with a free
kick to the opposition.
- The "home team", i.e. the team placed first in the playing schedule, will
always start on the right hand side of the pitch and will always take the
kick-off. Which side is right
and left will be clearly marked on all pitches.
- When the game is over, the players should leave the pitch immediately. The
normal
polite exchanges should take place off the pitch.
- The programme allows 20 minutes for each match and they take at least 16
minutes to
complete. It is therefore very important that everyone involved keeps to these
rules,
otherwise there will be gradual delays which disturb everyone: players,
referees,
organisers and the spectators.
Laws
- All matches, except the finals, will last 2x7 minutes with a half-time break
of no more than one minute. The finals will last 2x10 minutes with a half-time
break of no more than two minutes.
- Each side shall comprise 7 players selected from a team of 15 maximum
players who must be registered before the start of play.
- A team may change its players any way they want so the players may come
on and off the field at will, as long as there are never more than seven on
the field at any one time. (penalty)
- A team which can only field 7 or less than 7 players because of injuries
may borrow players or reserves. They can only borrow players either from teams which have played in the
same knockout competition and which have already been eliminated from the
Tournament, or from a pool of reserve players. A team, which
borrows a player and uses him or her as a replacement must retain that player
in its squad for the remainder of the Tournament, unless he or she is injured.
These new players must be added to the team sheet prior to playing any game.
These players are equal by definition to initially registered players.
- Laws which differ from normal 15-a-side rugby
- Always three players in the scrum.
- Incorrect kick-offs give a free kick to the opponents.
- The scoring team restarts the game with a kick-off.
- There shall be no conversion after a try or penalty kicks at goal.
- No 22-m laws are applied.
- The Rules and Laws of the Tournament, including their interpretation and any
additional Rules, are at the sole discretion of the Tournament Organizers.
